She practices companion animal medicine, focusing her care on dogs and cats. She attended Arkansas State University from 1997-2000. In 2004, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. She is a member of The American Veterinary Medical Association and The Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian and son, Will. Dr. Emily also enjoys swimming and yoga. She loves her dogs, Shelby and Calypso, her cat Juju, as well as her chickens. She is grateful for all of the wonderful pets and people she has met since coming to Paragould and looks forward to serving them for many years to come.

Dr. Laura Dacus, Vet

Dr. Laura Dacus has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1998, when she earned her degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She also attended the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine her senior year of studies, focusing on small animal surgery, medicine, anesthesia, and the occasional exotic animal (mainly
rabbits).

Dr. Dacus has a strong interest in feline medicine and is a member of the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners). Of course she also enjoys working with dogs and the occasional exotic pet (rabbit, Guinea Pig, mice, and rats).

At home Dr. D loves spending time with her Standard Poodle “Ralphie”, her Bengal cat “Mavis”, Siamese cat “Vladimir Pu-tat”, and her Siamese kitten “SNAFU”. She is most proud of her son and daughter who attend the University of Arkansass at Fayetteville. And tries to sneak away on weekends to see them. When spending time at home she enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and researching all aspects of global warming and environmental issues.

“I knew at the age of four, I wanted to be a greeter at Walmart, a beauty Queen, and a veterinarian “. At least one of her dreams came true.

My position here at Paragould Animal Clinic has been the most rewarding position I’ve held. The staff, and Dr. Carter, are always working together for the best possible outcome for your pet. We are invested in our patients and clients, our “family”.
